Anxiety does not have to get in the way when you are competing in a sports event.

Does anxiety about performing stand in your way of competing to the best of your ability? Is fear blocking you from achieving your goals? Are you afraid of letting yourself or others down when having to compete on a stage or in a performance? Does this merry-go-round sound familiar? Succeeding in sports means learning how to control anxiety so you can achieve your goals. It can feel like an impossibility if your anxiety overpowers you. You want to succeed in a particular sport, but feel stuck with being able to perform to the best of your ability. Now is the time to learn how you can manage your anxiety so you can perform to the best of your ability.

Fear of failure and the unrealistic expectations you’ve been placing on yourself are the barriers to the success you so crave. This only serves to lower your confidence, which causes you to perform at a lesser level. The end result is a whole of shame and more doubt about your abilities.

Are you tired of feeling anxious before competing in a sport? Does the stress and pressure of it all threaten to overtake you?

Therapy can help reduce that worry and feeling overwhelmed to compete. I can help you explore how the expectations you place on yourself are holding you back. We can work together to improve your self-confidence in your sport and all areas of your life. In treatment, we will look at the goals you want to accomplish in order to succeed at competing. As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I can help you understand how your past performances have affected your ability to succeed in your sport. Then, we can utilize a future template in hopes of decreasing anxiety for future athletic events.
